Join us for The Road I've Traveled Breakfast with Tom Cody,

Vice Chair Federated Department Stores, Inc.

Wednesday, May 16th, 7:30 a.m.

Come and hear Tom Cody talk about his experiences with race and diversity. In particular, he will be discussing his role as the Co-Chair of Cincinnati CAN after the April 2001 disturbances and what initiatives Federated is involved with to help improve diversity and race relations in our community. Please see the attached biography on Mr. Cody for more information.

Mr. Cassidy will be discussing how Cincinnati Bell has partnered with Taft High School.  Some highlights of the Cincinnati Bell program include:

 

Ø      Adding five state of the art computer labs

Ø      Providing Internships

Ø      Providing 10 college scholarships per year

Ø      Twice a week employees tutor students for the state proficiency tests. (Every student that Cincinnati Bell has tutored has passed the state proficiency. They have 100-0 record).

Ø      Providing free laptops and cell phones to students who maintain at least a 3.3 GPA.

Freedom Center : Cincinnati's "Apprentice" Wednesday March 21

FreedomYP, the young professional group of the National Underground Freedom Center, presents this Happy Hour at the Freedom Center on March 21 in an effort to recruit 300 new mentors for the Cincinnati Youth Collaborative (CYC).  Learn about mentoring, have a drink with old and new friends, and meet a number of Cincinnati luminaries. Surya Yalamanchili, known not only for being a CYC mentor, but also for being on the NBC show, The Apprentice, will share his story, on how mentors changed his life and brought him to The Apprentice.  To learn more about the CYC, http://www.cycyouth.org/">click here. The first 2007 event from our "Freedom of..." Series, was a great success! Despite the very cold weather, hundreds of people showed up to participate, network, enjoy the music by the Buffalo Ridge Jazz Band and the food

About the Band: The Buffalo Ridge Jazz Band is a group of well-seasoned musicians whose specialty is Classic Traditional Jazz. The musical effect is at once entertaining, humorous and infectious. Founded in 1994 by veteran banjo artist and showman, Bob Adams, the band continues to gain an increasing number of fans on domestic and international stages.
